Meet Our Team

 Dr Jeffrey Sands, has grown up in S. Florida and even graduated from Piper High School in Sunrise, FL. University of Florida undergraduate, and DVM degree from Araneta University, PI in 1982. Externship in 1983-84 at the Animal Medical Center in NYC. Board certified veterinary acupuncturist in 1995. Practicing veterinary medicine for over 25yrs. specializing in holistic pet care and nutrition. Opened Heron Lakes Animal Hospital and Rehabiltation Center in 2005. A member of AVMA and BCVMA

Dr Sands is married to Heidi and has 2 sons, Zachary and Mason. Zachary, 14yrs old  attends Westglades Middle School, and Mason, 2 yrs old is still too young for school. He volunteers as a baseball coach in Parkland and is active in many community events. His 4 legged family includes a Boxer named Tucker, the clinic cat, Max, an 18yr old yellow nape amazon parrot with an identity crisis, as she is a he named Tammy, and the newest addition is a Uromastic lizard named Gator.
